Designed ad-hoc solution of integrated access control system at the G. Meazza (San
Siro) stadium in Milan, Italy (capacity 90,000) to make the entire facility compliant
to the latest security and safety standards and regulations. The solution complies
with both ISO-14443 and ISO-15693 Radio Frequency Identification standards (RFId
contactless) and supports both 1-D and 2-D Barcode recognition. It allows real-time
monitoring of all details of the single access both at the gate and remotely via
hand held devices linked through a wireless network. In addition it offers several
innovative functionalities and includes 160 high-performance, custom-made full-high
turnstiles entirely that exceed compliance of both UEFA and FIFA security and safety
norms and recommendations. Elimination of counterfeit tickets has been achieved
through RSA-like security. Advanced marketing/merchandising applications and loyalty
schemes have been implemented to maximize sales and profitability. The entire solution
is based on ISO standards (i.e. open standards) to allow tenders with a variety
of smart card suppliers and it is fully operational on a daily basis since 2007
- Designed multi-application contactless cards and RFId solutions
to support a number of applications in public/private environments. Applications
supported include access control of a theme park, the entrance at different sections
of two museums and management of university services such as library, gym and cafeteria.
